In a lot of cases, if the battery has been left to go flat or has been removed for a period of time, the remote controls rolling code will need to be resynced to the vehicle. Battery replacement is recommended every 1-2 years depending on usage. In addition, the operating of the remote controls buttons out of range of the vehicle can sometimes cause the remote control to need resyncing.
